Zevrix Announces Package Central for InDesign File Packaging Automation

Posted: March 31, 2010

Zevrix Solutions announces Package Central 1.0, a new document packaging workflow automation solution for Adobe InDesign. Originally developed for a major publisher in the United States, the software automates InDesign packaging by processing files from hotfolders. Package Central offloads packaging to a central system leaving operator workstations free from the output process.
Under Package Central workflow, production artists, prepress operators, and designers simply submit files to hotfolders that reside on the network. Package Central automatically collects the files from its station using hotfolder settings, and will auto-activate document fonts as well. Operator workstations will never again be tied up by the output process.
Major Package Central features and benefits include:
• Process InDesign files from hotfolders
• Font auto-activation
• Automatic e-mail notifications of process stages and errors
• Update modified links automatically
• Compose variable package folder names
• Detailed processing logs
• Easy to install and operate
Package Central runs on a dedicated machine and watches hotfolders linked to its workflow settings. The software performs all its tasks automatically and can run absolutely unattended. Zevrix also produces BatchOutput Server, which automates printing and exporting to PDF and PostScript by processing InDesign files from hotfolders. Pricing and Availability Package Central can be purchased for $499.95 from the Zevrix Solutions website,, as well as from authorized resellers. Zevrix customers can get 30% discount until April 22, and a trial version is also available for download.
