Luxe Pack New York's seventh edition drew a record crowd of 2,110 visitors—an increase of 5% compared to last year—to the luxury packaging trade exhibition held May 21 and 22 at the 40,000 square-foot Altman Building and Metropolitan Pavilion. The event spotlighted 109 packaging manufacturers, showing the newest innovations in the luxury market.
"Luxe Pack New York 2009 was a very strong event, despite the fragile economic situation. We're delighted that attendance grew and that we maintained a sold-out show. Visitors were met with new products, especially new standard line launches or technologies, which is more important now than ever before," says Nathalie Grosdidier, executive director, Luxe Pack New York.
Luxe Pack New York's Seminar Series continued to be on visitors "to-do" list, and were very well attended. Luxe Pack New York also showed the Material ConneXion Innovation Lab—an interactive exploration center that provides invaluable insight into materials. With an emphasis on the essential link between advanced materials and successful design, the Lab showcases the latest material developments alongside a selection of materially distinct products and packaging examples.
Visitors also had the first opportunity following the FiFi Awards to view all the winners in one place at the Luxe Pack New York FiFi Awards 2008 Display, cosponsored by The Fragrance Foundation. In addition, CPC Packaging magazine's Editors' Choice Awards were presented during a cocktail reception at the show and the winning products were on display. Finally, an exhibitor of the work of the recipients of the Pratt Institute's "Marc Rosen Scholarship for Graduate Package Design" gave visitors a sneak peak at the future of packaging design.
