For the first time, the SCA Design Challenge is open to U.S. student designers. This year’s challenge is to redesign packaging for LEGO’s ‘Bricks and More’ starter set and SCA’s Tempo tissue box.

Contest finalists will be invited to a workshop in one of SCA’s Design Centers in Europe, including a visit to the factories of the two category sponsors in Denmark and Germany. During this workshop, finalists will receive expert support and guidance to improve their designs before submitting them to the SCA Design Challenge final.

Finalists also will be awarded a share of over $19,500 in prize money, and category winners will receive internships at SCA Packaging. The SCA Design Challenge will accept submissions from student designers until December 4, 2011.
